Backpocket lives in the menu bar. It has no Dock icon and opens no window when you launch it — if nothing seems to happen, it is running correctly. Look for its icon near the clock.
Press Shift+Cmd+V to open the panel. Copy a few things first so there is something to see.
Another app may already own Shift+Cmd+V. Open Settings with Cmd+,, go to Shortcuts, and record a different combination. Backpocket refuses a combination another app has claimed rather than failing silently.
Pasting for you requires macOS's Accessibility permission. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility and switch Backpocket on. If it is already listed and switched on but still does not work, remove the entry with the “−” button and add Backpocket again — macOS ties the permission to the app's signature, so an entry left over from an older copy can look enabled while granting nothing.
You can also work without the permission: turn off “Paste automatically” in Settings › Clipboard. Choosing an item then places it on the clipboard and you paste it yourself with Cmd+V.
Three things stop an item being recorded, all deliberate. Password managers mark what they copy as concealed, and Backpocket skips it. Apps on the ignore list in Settings › Excluded are never recorded. And clipboard history expires on a schedule — seven days by default, changeable in Settings › Clipboard. Notes and pinned items never expire.
Press Cmd+Z right away and it comes back, with its timestamps and pin state intact. The window is short on purpose: keeping deleted content around for long would undo the point of expiry.
Everything stays on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded. Settings › Data has “Clear clipboard history”, and uninstalling the app and deleting its container removes the rest. See the privacy policy for specifics.
The interface is available in English, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese, and follows your system language. You can override it in Settings › General.
Email us or open an issue. Including the following makes it much faster to fix: the app version (Settings shows it), your macOS version, what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead.
Tell us the problem rather than the solution — what you were trying to do when the app got in the way. That tends to lead somewhere better than a feature described in the abstract.

대신 붙여넣으려면 macOS의 손쉬운 사용 권한이 필요합니다. 시스템 설정 › 개인정보 보호 및 보안 › 손쉬운 사용에서 Backpocket을 켜주세요. 이미 켜져 있는데도 동작하지 않으면, 목록에서 “−” 버튼으로 항목을 지우고 다시 추가하세요. macOS는 권한을 앱의 서명에 묶어두기 때문에, 예전 복사본의 항목이 남아 있으면 켜진 것처럼 보이면서 실제로는 아무 권한도 주지 않습니다.
권한 없이 쓰셔도 됩니다. 설정 › 클립보드에서 “선택하면 바로 붙여넣기”를 끄면, 항목을 고르면 클립보드에 올라가고 Cmd+V로 직접 붙여넣으면 됩니다.
세 가지 경우가 있고 모두 의도된 동작입니다. 비밀번호 관리자는 복사한 내용에 감춤 표시를 하고, Backpocket은 그것을 건너뜁니다. 설정 › 제외에 등록된 앱은 아예 기록하지 않습니다. 그리고 클립보드 기록은 정해진 기간이 지나면 사라집니다 — 기본 7일이며 설정 › 클립보드에서 바꿀 수 있습니다. 메모와 고정한 항목은 사라지지 않습니다.
바로 Cmd+Z를 누르면 시각과 고정 상태까지 그대로 돌아옵니다. 되돌릴 수 있는 시간이 짧은 것은 의도한 것입니다 — 지운 내용을 오래 들고 있으면 만료 기능의 의미가 사라지기 때문입니다.
모두 사용자의 Mac에만 있습니다. 어디로도 업로드되지 않습니다. 설정 › 데이터에 “클립보드 기록 지우기”가 있고, 앱과 컨테이너를 삭제하면 나머지도 함께 사라집니다. 자세한 내용은 개인정보 처리방침을 봐주세요.
